This sprint was chock full of features, improvements and πŸ•΅οΈ discoveries - check β€˜em out …

E2 is scheduled to be released πŸš€ this Sunday, February 6th:

  • Mixed fleets support is here. You can now add dashcams from different partners to the same organization. This is available from the Partner Portal and from the APIs.

  • Partner contacts can now manage administrative access for any Partner Portal user in any organization. This will enable service providers to collaborate better for shared customers.

  • Partners can now manage device settings in bulk from the Organization level with the new API call. This will also be added to the Partner Portal in a future release.

  • A new possible fatigue event is now available!! This event is triggered when the driver has already been driving for more than the configured amount of consecutive driving time and a distracted driving event occurs. The default configuration is 8 hours. This is available with a new API call and will be available from the Surfsight Portal in a future release.

  • Webhooks enable partners to register to receive specific information at a regular cadence from Surfsight services. If a webhook is down for some reason, the Surfsight server now retries sending the information that was missed six times over a period of 24 hours.

  • We’ve measured and tested our Developer Portal in the field and learned that on average, brand new developers unfamiliar with our solutions will be able to integrate live video streaming, download of event videos and retrieval of SD card recordings within 2 days each into their existing platform. Woohoo! Pretty fast time-to-market for our integrators.

  • The Developer Portal now offers additional information and guidance around polling best practices, telemetry data retrieval, and device status changes.

πŸ’… WLP facelift πŸ’…:

Working closely with the PSMs, the Product Managers have identified partner candidates to participate in the Alpha program for our UI facelift. Alpha will include two meetings. PMs to present the UI in the first meeting and during the second meeting, feedback. In the meantime, we’re continuing to develop and improve the UI as well as supporting APIs.

Geotab:

We’ve delivered a new release for the Surfsight add-on for MyGeotab, including (amongst other features) support for our upcoming 3.10 firmware release. Reminder: 3.10 is in beta in the field with a few select partners already today.

πŸš— Coming soon πŸš—:

  • For the Cloud applications: unsubscribing from event email notifications, development for AI-14 as well as support for 3.11 and 3.12 firmware versions, a new rule engine, organization profiles, additional mixed fleet support, driver modules and scoring, posted speed profiles

  • For the Developer Portal: sample and reusable code, virtual cameras, and webhook and virtual event reliability
